Newark is next door; JFK and LaGuardia take planning
From Elizabeth, Union, and Cranford the EWR terminals are only a few exits away, and even Summit and Berkeley Heights have a direct run down Route 24 and I-78. JFK is a different trip: the usual route crosses Staten Island via the Goethals Bridge and the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge to the Belt Parkway, and that is where most of the variability lives. LaGuardia usually means the Holland Tunnel and a crossing of Manhattan. We time each departure around the day’s traffic, not a rule of thumb.
Rail towns still need a car for flights
