How much extra time to allow
On a normal day we plan pickups to put you at the terminal about 2 hours before a domestic flight and 3 hours before an international one. On peak holiday days, add another 30 minutes at the airport and build extra margin into the drive, especially for JFK and for afternoon departures.
The quietest option on a peak day is often the earliest flight: roads before 6 a.m. are close to free-flowing, and you are through security before the midday rush.
